Spam Attack/New Mod

First topic message reminder :

As probably some of you were aware of, a user has registered and spammed all over the graphics section with the same spam post; due to this, I asked Ruca to become an early mod as he was the only other one online at the time (he was going to become a moderator anyway as me and Bam discussed). Huge thanks to him for helping me delete the threads

That could mean a lot of things. I just double checked the permissions though, no guests can post.

Okay, but I'm fairly certain this guy had no account and was posting as anon. :S

Well, let's keep on the lookout for anyone like him. I recommend checking Sonic Blast's IP and see if it's him.

I actually did check, his IP matches Sonic's, but there's a possibility they're just in the same location using a shared line or something. :S

Uh guys, the guest posting was my bad. I thought deleting a user completely would delete all of his posts. Looks like I'm wrong.. :/

No, no. I deleted them. && Mega, for future reference, deleting an account only orphans the posts. It does nothing to get rid of any spam on an account's part, only to leave the posts as they are with no link to an account.

And the IP was the same as Sonic Blast's, huh? I bet it's the same person.

It could very well be, but as I said before they may be sharing the same connection by living in the same area, the same house, etc. Highly unlikely, but very possible.

@IP Banning: I have to say that I am against it, with the exception of cases like these (malicious spammers). There are cases in which an IP address may be shared by many, and banning of it may mean that others under the same address may not be able to be part of this place. =/

But if it had to be done, so be it.
