I want to learn GIMP

But I'm too fucking lazy. Help me get unlazified. I've opened it, but it looks WAYYY too complicated for my Summer brain. Can someone give me a basic tutorial?

Looks at some tuts, you'll get better as you progress.

That's how we all start. It's all about trial and error. Just start using random stuff. Learning what each thing does as you use it.

Yeah I fucked around on it but I still suck.. All I know is how to make a box.

Well experiment with that box, add paint to it, brushes, filters whatever.

Start by messing around with the gradient tool, brush tool, text tool, and a few filters. That right there is the basics to graphic design on gimp

@ Julian: It depends on what you are trying to make. Signatures? Those require a lot more than the knowledge of how tools work. Avatars? You can make some nice ones, but without knowing how to download brushes and filters, scripts, and text, they arent going to look very nice. Themes? I guess those are a given, just coming up wit ideas is hard sometimes. But like I said, I would train Ein, but I dont think he is going to be very active on here so I dont think he will see this. xD Also, Sher, talk to me on MSN whenever you want to start learning.
